Censored Mail - 1942
Registered letter sent from Thorshavn to the United States via Great Britian.  After being censored by the British, it was sent to the United States where it was opened by U.S. Customs in the Port of New York, resealed by the Post Office and forwarded to the addressee.  Research reveals that Dr. Tage Madelaire Nielsen was an Opthomologist.  The USPS Official Seal on top of  censored tape is uncommen.  The contents of the envelope were probably eye glasses sent for repair or replacement.
